In brief
Every Atlantic Institute event is free and open to anyone. There are three ways to take part: come to something on the 2026 calendar, give a few hours as a volunteer, or host a gathering in your own building. Gifts can be made by PayPal, Zeffy or Zelle, and go to the programme calendar.

Every event we run is free and open to anyone. There are 60 programmes on the 2026 calendar across 26 series — a Coffee Night, a Friendship Gathering or a Fountain Forum talk is the easiest first step.

Congregations, campuses and civic bodies host our gatherings — Temple Emanu-El, Georgia Tech, Woodward Academy and Turner Chapel AME among them. Offer a room and we bring the programme.

Student contests
The Art & Essay Contest invites students to express themselves and puts their work in front of a reading panel. Gifts cover materials, the reading panel and the awards evening.

Ramadan hospitality
Eleven Ramadan dinners this year, from the iftar at St. Martin in the Fields to the Awards Gala at The Carter Center. Gifts pay for the meal, the room and the guests who come as our guests.

Civic service projects
Sixteen civic-engagement programmes this year — the YMCA Day of Service, the Bagel Rescue with St. Thomas Aquinas, sandwiches with The Sandwich Project ATL, planting with Trees Atlanta.

Employer matching
Many employers in metro Atlanta match staff giving. Send us the confirmation and we will complete the paperwork on our side.

In-kind gifts
Catering, venue hire, printing, transport or interpreting. An in-kind gift often does more than its cash value for a single gathering.

Volunteer roles
A few hours, wherever they fit
Tell us which one interests you and we will follow up with the next date it runs.
Host and greeter
Welcome guests at the door, hand out name badges and help people find a seat. Two hours, usually an evening. No preparation needed.
Kitchen and hospitality
Set tables, plate food and clear down at iftars, Ramadan dinners and Friendship Gatherings. Busiest through Ramadan.
Contest reader
Read and score student entries for the Art & Essay Contest against a shared rubric. Done from home, over a few weeks.
Service project crew
Pack lunches, distribute food or plant trees alongside partners such as The Place, The Sandwich Project ATL and Trees Atlanta.
Partner with us
We do not run programmes alone
Every gathering on the calendar sits inside someone else’s building, and that is the point.
Congregations
Host a Table of Abraham iftar, a Scripture Reasoning session or a Friendship Gathering. We bring the format, the facilitation and the food.
Schools and campuses
Run a Fountain Forum talk, a Leadership Forum or the Art & Essay Contest with your students, as Woodward Academy and Georgia Tech have.
Civic bodies
Police departments, city halls and public agencies join us for community lunches, commemorations and days of service across the region.
